Working in harmony with the natural environment.

Sustainable agriculture means preserving and protecting the land, raising animals humanely, and treating the people you work with fairly. In return, farmers can run financially successful farms that produce healthy, tasty, chemical-free organic food.

Back in 2000, we bought land in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and converted it to organic. We figured the best way to convince other Oregon farmers to follow suit was to showcase sustainable farming techniques ourselves. If we could demonstrate it, surely they could implement it.

Our tenet for implementing sustainable farming practices is based in part on developing a local food web. When farmers work with one another, sourcing organic products through local distribution systems, they gain independence from off-farm, petroleum-based inputs and unsustainable practices. And that translates into more environmentally friendly, cost-effective organic farming.
